Membership The LDS Travel Network is open to all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but is not affiliated with or sponsored by the Church. Directory The LDS Travel Network compiles and makes available a directory of members around the world - LDS people who make their homes available for bed and breakfast. The directory, which lists information for each member, such as name, city, occupation, hobbies, and local attractions, is available both on the web and in printed form. The web site directory is only accessible by members of the Network - controlled by password. Those members without Internet access can contact the LDS Travel Network and "rent" the printed directory for $10 per use. A $15 dollar deposit will also be collected and then returned when the printed directory is returned to the Network. Both the printed and web-based directory are continuously updated and the latest version of the directory should be consulted each time a member wants to contact other members to make travel arrangements. In either format - printed or on the web - the information contained in the directory is the property of the LDS Travel Network. Members are not to copy or distribute the directory, or any part of the directory, except as required to make specific travel arrangements for yourself and your unmarried children. Membership Types There are two types of LDS Travel Network memberships. Full membership is for those who intend to both host and utilize accommodations listed with the Network for travel. Host-only members enjoy hosting others in their homes, but don't intend to utilize accommodations on the Network. Annual Fee Members of the LDS Travel Network pay an annual fee of $35 to participate in the Network. The annual membership fee is not assessed to host-only members. At any time, however, host-only membership can be converted to full membership by paying the annual fee. Traveling: Only members of the Network and their unmarried children may utilize accommodations listed on the Network. Making Arrangements The following rules and guidelines should be followed in making arrangements to stay in Network accommodations:
Please be considerate and keep in mind that your host is not running a professional bed and breakfast. Please communicate and coordinate your schedule with your host during your visit. Leave your guest room as you found it each morning and when you leave. While it doesn't cost anything to stay in the homes of other members of the Network, a house gift or other means of expressing appreciation for your host is appreciated and encouraged. Lastly - one of the great benefits of participating in the LDS Travel Network is the opportunity to make new LDS friends - often of a different culture or background than your own. Don't just stay with your host, but - to the degree possible and according to the desire of your host - get to know your host, share and exchange ideas, experiences, etc. The following rules should be followed when staying with your host
Hosting other members of the Network is one of the most rewarding aspects of belonging to the Network. Accepting an Invitation to Host The following rules and guidelines should be followed when you are asked to host:
Members of the Network are encouraged to tell their friends and family what the Network has to offer. Encourage them go to the Internet site to learn about the Network and join. The more members that are listed on the Network, the more accommodations that will available for you to utilize! Let all your friends know about the service.
